Mosaic Minds Art Academy

Mosaic Minds Art Academy was established to be a safe place for children with an interest in learning more about the arts. Summer King, Founder, started this school with a vision to encourage children with similar interests to feel safe and comfortable in a world where artists can sometimes feel like outcasts. As a huge advocate for kindness our students are expected to encourage and motivate each other in a friendly, exciting, creative environment.

We are an Art History based Art School. Our classes are NOT art and crafts. 60% Art History 40% Creative art project with an emphasis on terminology & technique. Small class sizes for more individual attention for each student. Our classes are affordable and high-quality.

Art Enrichment Classes

Supplemental art history based art class. Each month there is a new lesson, parents receive a study guide with our vocabulary words, facts for review, supply list, weekly projects and our weekly goals. We study a new artist or Art period every 4 weeks. We experiment with different mediums Pen & ink, clay/ sculpture, watercolor, printmaking, acrylic painting, oil painting and more. Students create between 3-4 new projects each month.

Field Trips. We try to get art out of the classroom! Our class visited Atlantas  HIGH museum for a class field trip for an exciting exhibit. This year we plan to return to the HIGH and also visit more child-friendly exhibits and museums.

Community Involvement. As a huge advocate for community involvement , past classes have visited local area nursing homes and delivered handmade Valentines Day cards to the residents. This year we will visit and create artwork with the residents.

Follow us on our social media for photos from our most recent classes and events.

Google us! We have excellent reviews on Google!

Art Contests.

In 2016 we entered  a sculpture contest judged by Brusters Ice Cream. The top 3 ice cream sundae sculptures were displayed at Brusters for 1 month and the winners were awarded gift cards for free ice cream! Visit our studio to see the winning sculptures in person.

Workshops

Exciting new workshops are offered often. Hand-built Pottery, Fashion Design & Illustration, Drama, Basic Sewing, Tribal Sculpture  and more. Early registration is recommended. Each workshop is offered once annually and they fill up quickly. Join our mailing list to be the first to know about our new workshops.

Semi Annual Student Art Show & Silent Auction

In June & December we have our student art exhibits. Students are given the opportunity to display and sell their artwork as an elegant silent auction style event. 100% of the proceeds of sales go to the students!

Live Virtual Art Classes

By popular demand, we are now offering Live Online Art classes for homeschoolers. Powered by "Zoom" Classroom. Your student interacts with Summer King live as she covers the history lesson and guides the student through the art project.

Our classes fill up quickly and space is limited. Please call for class availability before registering.
